Hey! My name is Sahil Dua, and I am a rising Senior at Westford Academy. I have always taken a liking to STEM related fields, especially Finance and Computer Science. Both in and out of school, I have gained numerous accolades in these fields. With my passions, I founded Fincademy, in order to help people learn more about personal finances, a topic that many people lack essential knowledge on. Through Fincademy, I hope to share my knowledge and experiences in the finance world with you all, in order to assist in ensuring a prosperous financial future for all! Some of my hobies include playing the piano, swimming for my swim teams, and cooking various types of cuisine.
I have gained a great deal of financial knowledge through DECA and through TYE.
DECA is a business competition, where competitors present on a variety of financial topics. In all threemy high school years, I chose finance events, and was able to perform very well each year. My freshmen year, I was able to qualify for the international competition, a feat that very few freshmen accomplish. Furthermore, my sophomore year, I was again able to qualify for the international competition, and was further able to achieve the rank of international finalist, a rank that only twenty people in the world achieve. As for this past year, my Junior year, I was able to progress further in my event to achieve the rank of 2nd place internationally, and earn the "coveted DECA glass". Through DECA I have learned a lot about the realm of finance, which I hope to share with you all through Fincademy.
TYE (The Young Entrepreneurs) is a year-long competition and program, where students form their own entrepreneurial venture and pitch it to judges. My team's product was an application targeting student debt, and in the team, I assumed the role of CFO (Chief Financial Officer). As a result, I gained a lot of knowledge both through the product and through my role as CFO. Again, I hope to utilize all of my knowledge gained to benefit you all on your journey's to financial freedom.
