Hi! My name is Somya Lunavat, a junior at Westford Academy. STEM has been my main field of passion throughout my years at high school, with a focus of Computer Science. I have gained valuable real time experience working in many different roles pertaining to CS, and have gained accolades in the field. Combining my passion of Computer Science with a desire to make an impact in my community, I cofounded Fincademy to educate people on finances, a necessary skill that many are left uneducated on even after a high school education. Using my experiences, I hope to support those wanting to learn more about personal finances. Some of my hobbies are reading, sketching, and soccer
I have had many opportunities to expand my financial and CS knowledge through TYE and the Congressional App Challenge
TYE (The Young Entrepreneurs) is a year-long competition and program, where students form their own entrepreneurial venture and pitch it to judges. My team's product was an application targeting student debt, and in the team, I assumed the role of CTO (Chief Technical Officer). As a result, I gained a lot of knowledge both through the product and through my role as CTO. The knowledge I gained from this experience is one I will expand to help benefit others who strive to learn more about personal finances
During my time as a full-stack developer for a Health Apps LLC, I not only underwent the complete procedure of producing the frontend and backend of a mobile application, but also got to grips with the financial side of pitching applications. This experience taught me a lot about both website production and the financial side of technology. I'm excited to bring this knowledge to Fincademy and help others learn about finance and technology.
