Our Fincademy Directors (Sahil, Arav, and Som) joined the African Community Center of Lowell (ACCL) in celebrating its 8th Anniversary. Our organizations first crossed path with a financial literacy seminar back in April, but since then, we have stayed connected. Inspired by the center's mission in helping the lives of many African immigrants and refugees, the Fincademy team held a fundraiser. With the help of our community members, we were able to raise over $1,400 for the center, enough funds to cover its insurance payment along with extra money!
The Fincademy team was also invited to join ACCL at its anniversary, where we received special recognition by the center. This event was wonderfully conducted, and the center was welcoming as usual. From participating in traditional African dances and marches, to eating authentic food prepared by volunteers, we had an amazing time at the anniversary.
We would like to thank Executive Director of the center Gordon Halm for allowing us to make a shared impact in the African community. We hope to continue our connection with the ACCL, and form more bonds and impact more people.
