Roudenbush Community Center: Investing 101

Reflection:

Our third Donuts and Dough Presentation took place on March 18th. This was the second out of three in our presentation series at Roudenbush. The topic presented on was Investing, especially focusing on the various investment devices (stocks, bonds, ETFs, mutual funds, and certificates of deposits). This presentation was personally my favorite to present on, as we analyzed various investment graphs, and utilized industry data to help our audience make informed investment decisions.

The audience was a little minimal this time, which we suspect was due to another after school sporting event conflicting with many Westford residents' schedules. However, the energy was still present, and our audience was engaged throughout, asking many great questions! Jeopardy, as always, was a fun way for our audience to display their knowledge gained from the presentation. The winners were given cookies. Furthermore, Twinkies were given to those who volunteered during the presentation, further engaging our audience.

We will be having our last presentation at Roudenbush focused over the topics of safeguarding one's assets, including emergency readiness, insurance, and preventative measures against scams and frauds. Our date for this next event will be announced soon, and will most likely take place on a day other than Monday, to allow more students to make time in their schedule to learn more about personal finances.
