Fincademy had our second overall "Donuts and Dough" presentation at Roudenbush Community Center in Westford, Massachusetts. This was our first seminar at Roudenbush. Here we presented to a variety of teenagers ranging from Sophomores to Seniors in highschool. Arav, Som, and I, presented on the topic of Understanding Loans, with a focus on the college financing process and FAFSA. As usual, donuts were given to all of those who attended.
Like our prior seminar, we made sure to make the event as fun and interactive as possible. After seeing the success of the Jeopardy game at El Faro, we again played the game with this new audience, which again was a crowd-favorite. Our audience was divided into four groups, answering a variety of questions related to the material covered in the presentation, in a Jeapordy fashion. At the end of the game, two teams were tied for the most points, leading to a tie-breaker to be conducted. Through the effort of the participants, it was clear that they were engaged, and eager to apply what they learned. As usual, the winning team was provided candy bars, and all people who answered questions throughout the presentation were awarded cookies.
Overall, the crowd dynamic was great, and everyone was engaged, with many questions being asked of us throughout the presentation, which we were happy to answer. After speaking with the participants following the presentation, we learned that the material covered in the presentation was great, and that many would love to come again in the future to hear about different topics. We are looking forward to presenting on the topic of Investing this coming Monday March 18th. Please view our event calendar for more details on the presentation. Thank you Roudenbush for allowing us to present!
